Perugia Presents Poetry: Ida Stewart, Sarah Sousa & Cindy Veach

Join us for a poetry reading with three stellar poets hosted by the Eileen Fisher Store in Northampton, MA. The reading showcases Perugia Press poet Ida Stewart, and CavanKerry poets Sarah Sousa & Cindy Veach. This will be the local book launch for Sarah’s new book: See the Wolf! You don’t want to miss this line-up of incredible voices in a beautiful space. Celebrate Poetry Month with us!

Ida Stewart’s Gloss won the 2011 Perugia Press Prize. Her poems have also appeared in FIELD, Typo Magazine, and POOL​, and her poems and nonfiction have been anthologized in Eyes Glowing at the Edge of the Woods: Fiction and Poetry from West Virginia and Walk Till the Dogs Get Mean: Meditations on the Forbidden from Contemporary Appalachia​​. A West Virginia native, Ida lives in Philly, teaches creative writing at University of the Arts, and is managing editor of the Journal of the History of Ideas.




Sarah Sousa is the author of the poetry collections See the Wolf (2018): Split the Crow (2015) and Church of Needles (2014). She also edited and transcribed The Diary of Esther Small, 1886 (2014) which won the New England Book Festival Award for Regional Literature. Her poems have appeared in the Massachusetts Review, Fourteen Hills, the Southern Poetry Review, and Tuesday; An Art Project, among others. She has a sonnet forthcoming in the collaborative artist’s book Mother Monument. Her honors include the Poetry Foundation’s Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Fellowship, the Anne Halley Prize awarded by the Massachusetts Review, and a Massachusetts Cultural Council Fellowship.









Cindy Veach received an MFA from the University of Oregon. She is the author of Gloved Against Blood (CavanKerry Press). Her poetry has appeared in the Academy of American Poets’ Poem-a-Day, AGNI, Prairie Schooner, Poet Lore, Michigan Quarterly Review, The Journal, Salamander and elsewhere. She co-edits The Mom Egg Review’s quarterly VOX Folio and is a frequent workshop instructor at the Massachusetts Poetry Festival. She lives in Manchester-by-the-Sea, Massachusetts.
