Join us for an evening with Washington State Poet Laureate Tod Marshall! He will host a poetry reading, highlighting WA129, a new anthology of poems that were gathered and curated by Tod Marshall from the people of Washington State.
There are 129 poems in the published book — one for every year of Washington statehood up to 2018, the end of Marshall’s term as State Poet Laureate. Several poets whose work is included in WA129 have been invited to read with Marshall on September 8, including Jenifer Lawrence, Bill Yake, Carolyn Gilman, Catherine Alice Michaelis, Dawn Pichón Barron, Emily Van Kley, Joanne Clarkson, Llyn De Danaan, and Patrick Dixon.
The event will include an open mic opportunity, you are invited to bring a poem to share in this celebration of poetry!
Hypatia-in-the-Woods is the co-host for this event. Free admission!
