As part of the Library of Congress Veterans’ History project, Abby E. Murray, Karen Skolfield, and Craig Hall and will take part in a community conversation at Westfield State University in the Loughman Living Room.
Abby E. Murray teaches writing to army officers & detained, undocumented youth. Abby edits a journal about the impact of war, is married to an active-duty soldier, and is Tacoma, WA Poet Laureate. Her first book, Hail and Farewell, won the 2019 Perugia Press Prize.
Karen Skolfield is a U.S. Army Vet, teaches writing to engineers at UMass, and is Northampton, MA Poet Laureate. Karen’s second book, Battle Dress, won the Barnard Women Poets Prize. Her 1st book won the PEN NE Award & the Zone 3 Press First Book Award.
Craig Hall is an Army Veteran, a Veteran Affairs Outreach Specialist, and an amputee advocate. He is one of the drivers of the Mobile Vet Center.
