Small Press Week 2022

Small Press Week is an initiative hosted by the Santa Fe Writers Project (SFWP) designed to showcase small publishers and their authors. Each year, five presses are selected, and this year, Small Press Week runs from November 26 – December 4. It’s an honor to be among the five small presses highlighted this year – we’re in excellent company and community!

Small Press Week notes, “By focusing on publishing one book a year, Perugia Press has been able to support and promote women’s voices in print since 1997.” They asked us what our goals as a publisher are:

Holiday shopping picks recommended by the Small Press Week folks include the beautiful collections below by Jennifer K. Sweeney, Lisbeth White, and Diane Gilliam.

When asked “Is there any writing advice you would give?” we told Small Press Week, “The road to book publication is unpredictable, long, and winding.”

We were also queried about what writing advice we would suggest poets ignore:

The folks at Small Press Week asked us to reflect on how we were affected during the pandemic as an organization:

Thank you to Small Press Week and SFWP for celebrating small presses, including Perugia Press, this year! #SPWeek22 #smallpressweek
